Taking on the World Stage

The Cycle Messenger World Championships, or CMWC, is an annual underground cycling competition hosted by bike messengers, for bike messengers. Each year, hundreds of messengers from across the world convene at a predetermined host city to put their skills to the test. For CMWC 2016, the chosen host city will be none other than the City of Light; Paris, France.

Spanning the course of five days, CMWC serves as a social event open to all cyclists. From group rides, to themed gatherings and competitions, CMWC serves as an opportunity to expand networks and strengthen bonds on a global level. This is why Cowgirl Bike Courier has chosen to participate in Paris CWMC 2016.

Next August, Cowgirl Bike Courier will be sending a team of four to represent both the courier company as well as San Jose on the World Stage. Of course, even with a year’s planning, sending four individuals to Paris is not an easy feat. To help fundraise for our trip, we will be selling CBC merchandise, with all proceeds going directly to our Paris 2016 trip.

Upon concluding our first year of business, we knew that we wanted to continue take Cowgirl Bike Courier as far as possible. Being able to represent our hometown of San Jose on the World Stage is beyond anything most have even considered, but with the support of our local community, we know we can make this dream a reality.

Over the course of the next year, we will be releasing a re-up of our team t-shirt, our long awaited water bottle design, and a brand new team cycling cap. Each project will be the result of a collaboration with local businesses and artists, keeping close the ties we’ve created and nurtured over the past year.

As we’ve stated time and time again, Cowgirl Bike Courier would not exist without the love and support of our local community. Through this fundraiser campaign, we look forward to not only working directly with our local community, but also serving as the representatives for San Jose next year in Paris.

Thank you San Jose. We look forward to representing you on the World Stage and proving why our local community serves as the heartbeat of Silicon Valley.
